YSEF

Our Mission

The York Suburban Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization providing funding for innovative programs that enhance the educational experience and foster continued academic excellence for district students.

How to Become Involved

There are several ways to support the York Suburban Education Foundation. The first way to impact the foundation is to make a tax-deductible donation. The second way is to become a member on one of the foundation’s committees. They are:

  • Finance
  • Governance
  • Resource Development
  • Fund Distribution
  • Public Relations
  • Executive (not open for volunteers)
  • Alumni Committee

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing the investment of the YSEF funds in addition to preparing the budget and establishing the foundation’s financial policies.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is responsible for identifying potential board members; recruiting and nominating prospective board members for consideration by the Board of Directors; periodically assessing the contributions of existing board members and their potential re-nomination; and annually assessing the membership and functioning of the Board of Directors as a whole and to recommend such changes in composition and process as it may deem appropriate to the Board of Directors.

Resource Development Committee
The Resource Development Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the solicitation of contributions, including endowments and grants, in support of YSEF’s purposes.

Fund Distribution Committee
The Fund Distribution Committee manages a resource distribution process in conformance to the purpose of YSEF. The Committee is responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of all initiatives and recommending continuation funding to the Board of Directors.

Public Relations Committee
The public relations committee creatively promotes, communicates and markets the foundation within the school district and the community.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee keeps full and complete records of all meetings and actions. At each meeting of the Executive Committee, all questions and business shall be determined by a majority vote of those present, or without a meeting, by a writing signed by all of its members.

Alumni Committee
The Alumni Committee is our newest sub-committee, formed in August of 2010. The committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining communication with the alumni of the district, as well as fostering their continued support of their alma mater.
