The Awesome Trojan Machine is a robot that High School students built using a kit funded by YSEF grant money. The grant also enabled students to participate in a regional robotics competition.

The grant program provides funding to teachers, students, administrators and members of the York Suburban community in furtherance of the YSEF’s mission. Grants should be innovative in nature and are not intended to be used for items that would normally be funded through the school budgetary process. Please note that any equipment purchased through YSEF grants becomes the property of the York Suburban School District.
Types of grants include:
- Professional - Available to teachers and administrators. Grant maximum approximately $1,000.
- Classroom - Available to teachers, students and administrators. Grant maximum approximately $1,000.
- Special Projects - Available to members of the YS community, teachers, students and administrators. (Applications can be considered at any time of the year. For more information or assistance please contact info@ysef.org). No dollar limit, but subject to availability of funds.
Grant Timing: We offer two grant cycles per year.
Deadline for the fall application is October 10th. Funding requests in this cycle are to be used in the spring or summer semesters. Grant recipients will be notified by early December.
Deadline for the spring application is April 10th. Funding requests in this cycle are to be used for summer programs, the fall semester, or the upcoming full academic year. Grant recipients will be notified by early June.
